Proposed Webpage Technologies Courses
We would like to know if you are interested in a NEW certificate in Webpage Technologies.
This new certificate would provide you with the necessary training to find employment as a
web developer. We are collecting this information to determine if there is enough interest for
us to develop and offer these courses. If you don't respond, but are interested, we will not
get a true idea of the number of students interested in this.
The following is a complete list of topics for this certificate:
• Principles of Web Design
• Using HTML Editors
• Graphics (Flash, GIMP)
• HTML (HyperText Markup Language)
• Database commands for the web
• PHP Programming (PHP: Hypertext Processor)
• Javascript
• XML/XLST
• RSS (Really Simple Syndication)
• Blog (Weblog) software
• SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
• Programming Logic
• AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML)
• CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
• Perl (Practical Extraction and Report Language)
• ASP (Active Server Pages)
• The Java Language and JSP (Java Server Pages)
• and possibly Python and some other languages
Courses would be taken over a period of 30 weeks at the downtown Spokane Campus. Once
you have completed these courses, you should be able to find employment as a web
developer, with entry level salary ranges starting at approximately $38,000+. And this is the
type of employment you can do from home, either as your own business, or tele-commuting
for an employer.
